Charlotte Soccer Academy teams leave Thursday
The Charlotte Soccer Academy (CSA) U15/16 and U17/18 teams leave today for the US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) Winter Showcase in Phoenix, Arizona. The event will be hosted at the beautiful Reach 11 Sports Complex. The facility boasts 16 fields, 15 grass and one turf field. The complex will host all 77 USSDA clubs plus the U17 National Teams from the USA, Portugal, Brazil and Holland. The showcase will run from Friday December 4-8 and feature 234 games. It is expected that 250-300 college coaches will be in attendance and 25-30 professional team scouts.
The CSA U15/16 and U7/18 teams will play on Friday, Saturday and Monday before flying home on Monday afternoon. “This will be a great opportunity for our players to impress in front of hundreds of college scouts this weekend”, said CSA’s USSDA Director Richard Butler. “We have now been training for three weeks and also played three friendly games in the last ten days. Both teams are well organized and the boys are itching to get out to Phoenix and show their talents. Although we are still technically in our pre-season it will be important to get off to a good start in Phoenix”, he continued.
